I have visited Rhinebeck many times over the last thirty years, and I think that Mike Vines has done a wonderful job of characterizing the legacy of Cole Palen and the excitement of Rhinebeck. The photographs are superb.
Cole Palen created one of the world's greatest collections of rare vintage aeroplanes, many still flying. Cole died in 1993 but his collection still exists in a museum at Old Rhinebeck airfield. Many of the planes in the collection are presented in this book, both flying and on the ground.
