This book does a great job of documenting the rapidly-evolving door slammer scene of the mid-to-late sixties that culminated in heads-up P/S racing, and early A/FX efforts that developed into the F/C class. It does a good job of balancing thorough stories||You get a fascinating potted career history of each of about two dozen drivers and teams; however, the real stars of the title are the photographs.
